Hi,

I think it might be nice to have a list of common abbreviations.
Might help us non-native speakers and also the newbies.

When this is fairly complete I'll sum it up as an article for the knowledge base.

I'll start with

MTS - Malayan trumpet snail

TDS - total dissolved solids

NH4 - ammonium
NH3 - ammonia
NO3 - nitrate
NO2 - nitrite
O2 - oxygen
CO2 - carbon dioxide
GH - general hardness
KH - carbonate hardness

RCS - red cherry shrimp
CRS - crystal red shrimp
B&W - black & white shrimp
R&W - red & white shrimp

More ideas?

Cheers
Ulli

Hi Ulli,

I´m a bit confused now,I thought TDS is a common abbreviation for the Melanoides tuberculatus.

Hello,

in germany R/W or R&W is used very often for good Crystal Red.
It doesn't matter, if this isn't so in other countries. Some countries used it, other countries not.
We need the abbreviations from your countries to became a full list Very Happy
