Hi James,
I don´t know about the first one.Depending on the look of the other side of the shell the second snail could possibly be this one.

Hi Heike,

Its similar to that one, but without the bat shape. The shell is very similar in shape to a large Theodoxus.

To my surprise they have nearly all buried themselves into the sand overnight.

Cheers
James

Hi James,

the nerite could be Neritina gagates. Does it have a white inner lining?

Cheers
Ulli

Hi Ulli,

I've been told its almost certainly Neritina pulligera because of the orange aperture with the black parietal shelf.

Here is another pic

Hi James,

yes, this picture excludes N. gagates. Have you asked Alexandra?

Cheers

Yes, but this answer came from another expert.

It will be interesting to see is she comes to the same answer.

As its a nerite and therefore not breedable I'm actually more interested in the other species. I'm trying to get some better pictures to send to Alexandra for an id.

Cheers
James
