Hi JK,

after all I've found doing a Google search (which is practically nothing) I'd tend to say it's a fancy trader's name. But let's wait for George, maybe he knows more.

There is a Caridina serratirostris sp. 'batik' in a German shrimp store. If you're interested, send me a PM and I'll give you the link.

Interesting-looking critters, no bees, however...
