Hi all,

I am keeping a few green shrimps in a 20L planted tank with a sponge filter. The water is moderately hard (KH 9), the temperature is about 23°C. I change 1/3 of the water every week.

I have just noticed that my green shrimps have black spots on their body. Can someone tell me what disease it is? What can I do to cure them?

Regards,
Huy.

Hi there,
well to me it looks like they could have sickened by a mycotic infection which is called the "Rostfleckenkrankheit" in german and is literaly translated as "rust spot disease".

Other than that I wouldn't know what else it could be...

Have you noticed anything else remarkably? Have you lost some of your shrimps already or do they seem to be "just fine" like usual?

Thanks for your help Smile .

In fact, I don't know how many shrimps there are in the tank. They usually hide all the time. I may have lost one or two.

The sick ones have not a strange behavior. I have females that are sick and are still carrying eggs.

Hello Huy,

try to change the water twice or threetimes a week to make them change their skin. If it is only a damage of the skin it will be gone .
