Hej all,
what are the temperatures you keep your shrimp in?
There have been reports saying that shrimp cease reproduction when it's too cold or too warm.
My snowball shrimp didn't mate when the water temps were at 18 °C (64 °) in winter, now, at 20 °C (68 °F) they started again.
The red cherries in the fish tank do breed at 25 °C (77 °F), although one could say that this is a tad too high for them.
How about your shrimp? I think that maybe the more susceptible kinds like red bee or blue tiger are more sensitive to temps.
Cheers

My experience with Snowballs are they tend to die at 29°C. Now that the temperature is higher, I have to switch on my chillers.
As for other shrimps, temperature does play an important part in terms of reproduction and coloration. Not sure anyone did a study on temperature and shrimps relationship. It might be tedious, as each species is slightly different. |

Yeah, that's why I thought we could maybe gather some information regarding this subject in this thread.
Thanks for your input!
