The first tank is a 90 gal with a 29 gal sump, and 29 gal refugium. The second tank is a 12 gallon. Thanks for the compliment.

this is awesome! I love the blue starfish and your shrimp. How bizarre can a creature get?
My, my, my, I'd really love to have a seawater tank...

Wow I had no idea you had saltwater tanks too! Stunning and those colors are amazing. I just love it when you get a camera in your hands.

It is hard for me to describe, but I will do my best. The leander plumosus is by far my most prized and fascinating saltwater invertebrate. If you want to see some truly great photos, look here~

Notice in the third photo on the Poppe Images site{which is an awesome site in it's own right}, that the shrimp is able to separate the appendages on it's head. Hard to describe, but imagine taking your fingers and gathering them all to a point. Now open and close them quickly...that is what he is able to do with them. I am not sure what purpose they serve. It could be to help feed, or to attract a mate. He is totally adorned with lots of frilly things and colors. That I assume is for camoflauge. He shows little fear of me, which is neat. He will come right up and take food from me. In my photos you may notice the cleaner shrimp is in my nano. That was only temporary, while I had to treat my 90 gal. for acropora eating flatworms. The treatment used is Interceptor{a dog heartworm medicine} which kills all crustaceans..so they must be removed during the treatment.
The shrimps I keep in the nano are the leander, a lavender & yellow pistol shrimp which lives with a hi-fin red banded goby{Stonogobiops nematodes}, and a pair of Thor Amboinensis{common name~ Sexy Shrimp}

And my only photo of my pistol shrimp, so called for the snapping sound they make with their large claw when they feel threatened.
Another cool critter~ a Persian conch..a snail with eyes on stalks, and a proboscus snout it uses to feed~
One of my three tiny gobies in the nano. A green banded goby~Gobiosoma multifasciatum
A very rare and elusive fish from the 90 gal. A white tiger goby~ priolepis nocturna. He spends most of the day upside down in the rockwork
And my African Bluestripe pipefish~Doryrhamphus Excisus Excisus~

That is very sweet of you to say Bill. But I think my photos stink..lol.  If you want to see some truly great sw photography, check out the links I posted or even look at the photo forum on reef sites such as www.reefcentral.com or www.reefs.org. I am a moderator at a few sw websites, one is my LFS{I worked there for years} www.seainthecity.com and one of the others is www.reefmonkey.com. The sw community is a great bunch..a little wild, but fun nonetheless.
I have found having nano sized tanks is a real challenge, and lots of care is involved keeping them stable. It took me a few years to get up the nerve to try a saltwater nano, but I am glad I did. It's the best place for small creatures you would never see in a large tank. Another favorite of mine is a boxing crab/ AKA Pom Pom crab, a cool guy who carries tiny anemones in it's claws for feeding and defense~
