Tiger shrimps & Green Babaulti shrimps together
About 2 years ago I kept Tiger (Cantonensis) shrimps and green shrimps (Babaulti) shrimps together for a little over a year with no crossbreeding. Even though they are both Caridina they each kept having thier own babies. I'm thinking of keeping them together again and I was wondering if anyone has had a problem with them crossbreeding. Did I get lucky for over a year or is it as I have believed for long time that these two shrimps are very different from each other and won't crossbreed.
I'm actually thinking of keeping blue tigers with green Babaulti shrimps.
I'm interested in what you folks think.
Cheers,
Scipio

Shrimplet
I think they will be fine. The caridina genus is nothing like the neocaridina genus, in that just because they are in the genus doesn't mean they are able to cross breed. In fact many of the genus are not known to cross with ANY other shrimp in the hobby, eg. caridina simoni simoni. It's a massive genus. Where neocaridina as a rule will happily hybridise with other neocaridina.
